Polybag to declaration pack. With returns.
Fashion is a packaging problem waiting to happen: polybags, tissue, multi-SKU orders, 25% returns. Pack Declare handles all of it — Shopify + Amazon connectors, BOM versioning for capsule drops, GROSS vs NET reporting, and declaration packs for 8 EU countries.
What makes this sector different
Return rates double your EPR exposure
Fashion averages 20-30% returns. Every returned order repackaged for resale is packaging on the market twice. Most spreadsheets miss this — then audits catch it.
Polybags are the next eco-modulation target
LDPE polybags, hangtag pouches, and tissue paper wraps all get counted. Eco-modulation hits heavy-film plastics hard. You need component-level visibility.
2030 empty-space rule (≤40%) applies per order
Fashion boxes regularly ship 60%+ empty. PPWR 2030 enforcement will fee-penalise that. You need measurement before the deadline to optimise.
Multi-SKU orders explode your declaration math
A single order with 4 items has 4 polybags + 4 hangtags + 1 shipping carton + tissue. Every SKU has its own BOM and the aggregation needs to be perfect.
Upcycled / deadstock products are irregular
Small-batch drops don't fit clean product-catalog models. You need BOM versioning so one-off capsule collections don't break your aggregates.
Why Pack Declare fits
Native Shopify + Amazon connectors
Most fashion DTC brands run Shopify primary + Amazon satellite. Pack Declare reads both and consolidates in one dashboard — no manual merging.
Returns imports = NET vs GROSS declarations
Import your RETURNS feed alongside SALES. Pack Declare computes both GROSS (total on market) and NET (net of returns) — whichever each PRO expects.
BOM versioning handles capsule drops
Create a capsule BOM once, apply to that drop's SKUs, and it's tracked cleanly in perpetuity. Switch to next season's drop — old data stays intact.
Per-component packaging tracking
Polybag + tissue + sticker + hangtag + carton. Each with its own material/weight/recyclability. Export-ready for each national PRO.
Empty-space metric built in (2030 prep)
Track volume-per-order and flag orders with >50% void ratio. See your baseline today, iterate, prove compliance in 2030.
Declaration packs for 8 EU countries
ECOEMBES (Spain), CITEO (France), LUCID (Germany), CONAI (Italy), Afvalfonds (Netherlands), SPV (Portugal), Fost Plus (Belgium), ARA (Austria). PRO-specific formats — just upload.
Frequently asked
How do you handle returns — do they count against our EPR?
Yes. Every packaging element sent out is placed on the market. If the return is repackaged and reshipped, that new shipping packaging also counts. Pack Declare imports your SALES + RETURNS feeds separately and lets you report GROSS or NET per country — whichever each PRO expects.
Our polybags are recyclable — do we still pay fees?
Yes, but recyclable LDPE gets eco-modulation bonuses (e.g. -15% fee reduction in France's CITEO scheme) vs penalties for multi-layer bags. Pack Declare's fee simulator shows the exact delta so you can make packaging decisions with real numbers.
What about hangtags — are those even declared?
Hangtags, care labels, stickers — if they're paper/cardboard they're declared as PAP 22. It sounds trivial until you multiply by 50,000 orders and realise you've been under-reporting. Pack Declare tracks every component in your BOM.
We have a new capsule every 6 weeks. Can Pack Declare keep up?
Yes. BOM templates let you clone a base BOM in seconds; each capsule gets its own versioned BOM effective from launch date. Old capsules stop receiving updates; historical orders keep calculating against their own BOMs.
Can I try this without uploading customer data?
Yes. Our readiness-check tool (/readiness-check) runs entirely in your browser — no data sent. Then, on the Free plan, connect a test store or upload a small CSV. First declaration pack is free (1 per calendar year).
Ready to see your real compliance exposure?
30 minutes from signup to first declaration pack. Free plan includes one pack per year so you can run a full cycle before paying anything.
