From subscription box to submitted declaration.
Multi-layer films, cold-chain packaging, PFAS compliance, subscription volumes: Pack Declare automates EU packaging EPR for Shopify and Amazon F&B brands shipping across the EU.
What makes this sector different
PFAS is a hard stop for food-contact packaging
PPWR Article 8 bans PFAS in food-contact packaging. If your supplier hasn't certified, every declaration is at legal risk. Pack Declare validates food-contact SKUs against supplier evidence.
Multi-layer films are an eco-modulation black hole
Barrier films are great for shelf life, terrible for recyclability. Every EU PRO applies heavy malus. You need to see the real fee impact before committing to a new packaging spec.
Subscription boxes = 3-4 BOMs per order
Primary pouch + cold pack + isotherm liner + outer carton. Each with its own materials and weights. Excel trackers break down fast at subscription scale.
Cold chain inflates your shipping packaging
Isothermal boxes, gel packs, cardboard inserts. Ignore them and your declarations are materially under-reported — a red flag in any audit.
PPWR 2030: empty-space ratio ≤ 40% for e-commerce
Cold chain boxes today are often >50% empty space. You need measurement + optimisation paths before the 2030 enforcement deadline.
Why Pack Declare fits
Shopify + WooCommerce + Amazon in one pane
Most F&B D2C brands mix at least two channels. Pack Declare consolidates orders from all three natively — no CSV merging nightmare.
Multi-layer materials handled cleanly
Composite packaging codes (C/PAP 81/82/84, C/PLA 90/91/92) are first-class citizens. Our declarations classify them correctly for each national PRO.
Shipping packaging included in every BOM
Primary pouch + secondary carton + shipping box + cold-chain material are all trackable per SKU. No material gets ignored; no under-reporting risk.
PFAS compliance flags on food-contact SKUs
Tag SKUs as food-contact; upload supplier certificates; Pack Declare validates and flags any gap before you submit.
Eco-modulation fee simulator
See what swapping multi-layer film for compostable mono-material would save across all your countries. Decide with real numbers.
Subscription-native — orders, not sign-ups
Every renewal order is counted for declarations automatically. Deadline alerts fire 30/14/7/1 days ahead of each country's deadline so you never miss a filing window.
Frequently asked
Does Pack Declare handle subscription cold-chain boxes?
Yes. Define your box-type BOM (outer box + isotherm liner + cold pack + cardboard insert) once; every subscription order pulls it automatically. Shipping packaging is declared alongside primary packaging per country, which is mandatory under Spain's RD 1055/2022 and aligned with CITEO, LUCID and every other national PRO we support.
How do we handle PFAS on food-contact packaging?
Mark the BOM component as food-contact. Upload the supplier's PFAS-free certificate as a Compliance Document. Pack Declare blocks declarations for food-contact components that lack supplier evidence — your audit trail is clean.
What about CONAI's environmental labelling requirements (Italy)?
Our CONAI adapter generates the MOD 6.6 declaration in the correct format. Environmental labelling on physical packaging is a separate obligation — our 2027 roadmap adds label artwork generation; today we produce declaration-ready CSVs that match CONAI's portal expectations exactly.
We sell wine — does Pack Declare cover glass + cork + foil?
Yes. Glass is a first-class material (GL 70/71/72 codes by colour), cork is a Wood code (FOR 51), and foil capsules are metal. Our ECOEMBES, CITEO, and CONAI adapters handle each material with the correct national rate.
